Oh My Freaking Goodness, and Also, Holy Cow

I FINALLY picked a song to walk down the aisle to. You have no idea how much this was stressing me out. I searched and downloaded, and asked people, and listened to SO much music. And a lot of it was nice, and pretty, and almost perfect, but it didn't have that "je ne sais quoi" quality about it.

That literally translates to: "I don't know what." But it really means that there is that special something that you can't really define that makes it perfect.

And I finally found that song. I was beginning to think that I would have to use my backup music: the same music my sister used. And while it was very pretty, I wanted to have my own music.

I've known what song the flower girl and ring bearer are walking down the aisle to for FOREVER. I recently picked the song that everybody else is walking down the aisle to. And it was quite an ordeal to get mine, and I didn't anticipate that it would be. But now it's done.

And I guess my blog from yesterday got me a few more rsvp's. ;) I won't lie: it occurred to me that that might happen. And I know that I'll probably end up calling people, and I don't mind. That was one thing that I did anticipate.

I've been procrastinating on a lot of wedding stuff. I'm down to all the random details that I don't really feel like planning anymore, but they have to get done. I told my sister today that I'm going to delegate a responsibility to her, since she's my maid of honor. Except she's married, so I guess that makes her the Matron of Honor. Do I HAVE to refer to her as that? Matron sounds so......old. But it is the proper term. Blegh.

Anyway, I told her that I would like her to order the flowers, since I'm ordering through Safeway, and their florist is only there, like 2 hours, every morning. And I'm kind of working every morning. But she's at home, and she has a phone.

Oh, and speaking of my sister, her birthday gift to me was to take me out for dinner. We went to Montana's this evening, and we both ordered the Buffalo Burger, which is the best. And I forgot to say thanks. Thanks Elleah. It was a really nice evening.

Anyway, this blog is way long, and I'm sleepy. I had a bath. Because my feet hurt. Because I worked today. Unpacking books. 8000 books, to be exact. I only got about a third of the way through. So I have at least two more days of that torture to look forward to. And then they all have to be cleaned.

But I'm not complaining, because I need money, and hey: I still love books.

Time's A'Ticken', People

As I type this, we are creeping up on the eleventh hour of May 30th. Tomorrow will be the last day of May, and after that? The first day of June. That's when I told people to RSVP by. June 1st.

We invited 157 people. 43% have rsvp'd. I'm kind of curious to see if I'm going to get a flood of rsvps over the next two days, and to see how many people I will have to call/email/facebook to see if they're coming.

Half of the guest list is comprised of people I'm related too. WAY less than half of them have rsvp'd. I guess they probably just assume that I know they're going to be there (and I hope that they are there), but it's nice when they make it official, because when the reception hall asks for numbers, they're going to need an official number.

**I just pray that none of my single cousins gets into a serious relationship in the next month, because I don't want to have to tell them that their significant others will not be attending my wedding.**

Also, I watched 27 Dresses tonight. I loved it. I will buy it. I will make Art watch it.

My Other Birthday?

I celebrated my birthday today, because everyone was busy yesterday evening. (Coincidentally, today my niece Kiera is exactly seven months. Go check out my sister's seven-month post.)

Elleah and Jared and Kiera came over, we had lasagna-in-a-slow cooker (best kind), strawberry and roasted almond salad with poppy seed dressing, garlic bread, and cherry cheesecake for dessert.

We also watched the movie Fracture, which is my most recent favorite movie. I've watched it three times in the past two weeks, and I still like it.

I got books and money for my birthday from my mom. Pretty much the best gifts ever. The money is in US cash, for our shopping trip to Grand Forks, which is coming up in about two weeks. I also got a gift card for Le Chateau, which is my favorite clothing store, and of course, it's freaking expensive.

That doesn't stop me from lusting over their clothes every time I walk past the store. But now I have a bit of money. Which MIGHT buy me one piece of clothing, depending on which piece I choose. If I go with pants, I'll have to supplement with my own money. If I go with a light sweater, I might be okay.

And do you know what else I've been busy with? Immigration paperwork, applying for Unemployment Insurance, and trying to convince Canada Revenue Agency that I don't owe them money - all at the same time. Is my head spinning yet? Oh yeah, and I still have a wedding to plan, and believe it or not, the wedding plans are not at the top of the list. I really need to get going on those again.

In any case, today was a good day; it actually felt like my birthday today, which was nice. Even if yesterday was my actual birthday.
